Our primary adjusting technique at Cordick Chiropractic & Optimum Health Clinic is Diversified, a hands-on technique, which is used to correct for restriction or malposition of a joint. It restores mobility and reduces pinching on nerves within a joint.
We also offer joint mobilization as part of our primary treatment techniques, which corrects for joint dysfunction with slow, progressive and repetitive stretching of the joint in a specific direction to restores its mobility.
We have many other chiropractic adjusting techniques and supporting therapies at our disposal to provide the most comprehensive and appropriate care for each patient’s unique needs. These techniques and therapies include:
- Active Release®
Active Release Technique (ART) is a patented soft tissue technique used to address entrapment of nerves within soft tissue, muscles and fascia. It is also used to address injury which has resulted in scar tissue or adhesions within a muscle. learn more about Active Release®» - Acupuncture
Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years to treat dysfunction in the body. It can also be used to treat painful musculoskeletal conditions such as low back and neck pain, headaches, shoulder and elbow pain or even pain in the hips and knees. Through the use of small needles, specific points in the body are stimulated to reduce pain, relieve muscle tension and restore balance to your nervous system. Acupuncture is sometimes combined with electrical stimulation for a greater effect.

Dry needling (Sometimes referred to as Intramuscular Stimulation) uses acupuncture needles to stimulate specific trigger points that are causing pain and dysfunction. A trigger point is a hyperirritable section of muscle that produces a characteristics pattern of pain referral. For example, a trigger point in your buttock may be causing pain down the leg (sciatica) or a trigger point in your neck may be causing your headache. By stimulating these points directly with an acupuncture needle, we are able to reduce the tone of the muscle and help to reduce symptoms. - Cranial Adjusting
Cranial adjustments address any shifting or tension along the junction of the cranial plates which make up the skull. Patients who suffer from migraines or sinus problems, or who have had a concussion or an old head injury may benefit from this type of adjustment. - Spinal Traction / Flexion Distraction Therapy
Through the use of a specialized adjusting table, the spine is elongated in a rhythmic fashion. This helps to open and mobilize the spine in a manner than reduces congestion and pressure on the spinal cord and segmental nerves. This is frequently referred to as spinal decompression. This helps to reduce lower back as well as nerve pain. While most suitable for people with spinal stenosis (a narrowing of the spinal canal that puts pressure on the spinal cord) or with disc bulges/herniation’s, many other types of lower back pain and benefit from spinal traction as well. - Custom Foot Orthotics
Custom foot orthotics are used to correct fallen arches within the feet, or for other biomechanical deficiencies of the foot and ankle. When the biomechanics of your feet are not optimal, it places additional strain on the joints and tissues of the feet, knees, hips and even your lower back. By restoring the normal biomechanical function, you are able to reduce stress, and therefore wear and tear, through numerous areas in your body. Orthotics can be used to treat plantar fasciitis, heel spurs, metatarsalgia, osteoarthritis in the foot or knee, patellofemoral pain syndrome, iliotibial band (IT) syndrome and even lower back pain. - Concussion Management
A concussion is defined as a “complex pathophysiological process affecting the brain, induced by biomechanical forces.” Typically, these injuries are experienced with an abrupt onset, causing shortin-term impairment and resolving spontaneously.
